Chaos and transport in disordered classical nonlinear chains
Chaotic behavior is the reason for destruction of Anderson
localization by a weak nonlinearity in a classical system.
A disordered one-dimensional chain of coupled weakly
anharmonic classical oscillators is one of the simplest
models where this effect can be studied. I will analyze the
probability for appearance of chaos in such chains, and then
I will discuss the consequences of chaos for transport of
conserved quantities along the chain.
