We have proposed advanced approximations for the Exchange-Correlation Kernel of TDDFT.
In 2002 (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 066404 (2002)) we proposed a new form for
the Exchange-Correlation Kernel of TDDFT directly derived from approaches coming from
Many-Body Quantum Field Theory, based on the succesful approximations of the latter (GW, Bethe-Salpeter approach).
Then, for the first time, the correct Long-Range Contribution (LRC) behaviour,
- α /q2,
responsible for the excitonic effects, has been demonstrated.
The kernel has shown its capability to correctly reproduce excitonic effects in the optical spectrum
of infinite systems (so far, LRC seems limited only to systems with continous excitons,
and breaks down for systems presenting bound excitons).
