Nonlinear physics: destruction of KAM tori at the sliding to pinning Aubry transition in charge-density waves | Dynamical emergence of physical properties from local constaints (here colors must be different around a vertex) |
Hierarchical fragmentation of the space of states: a consequence of constraints |
Current research interests include:
- Theory of charge-density waves: nature of the sliding to pinning transition
- Dynamics and topology: emergent properties from constraints, fragmentation of space, glassy dynamics
- Phenomenology of magnetism (to what extent the geometry of the lattice at the microscopic scale influences the magnetism at the macroscopic level?)
Decarbonization
With several colleagues, we have estimated the carbon footprint of the Institut Néel (report) and suggested ways to reduce it.
